Cameras

Thanks to those of you who have submitted work. The overall standard has been excellent so far!

When you have designed your magazine front cover you need to come to me to get a camera to take your images.

Your front cover must be completed by Friday 27th March. This includes a hand drawn draft, a first draft with comments on how you could improve it, and the final copy.

You can forward any drafts to me so that I can comment and guide you.

Deadline Friday 27th March

Thursday, 5 March 2009

1st DEADLINE

Please submit the first draft of all of the planning tasks below on Monday 9th March.

I will mark these and get them back to you by the end of the week.

If you do not submit the work I will assume that you are not resitting and I will withdraw you.

If you would like to also submit a hand drawn draft of your front cover this will be helpful to your progress.

Magazine Front Cover

Just some hints and pointers...

1) Choose a name for your magazine. Ensure that it really says something about your magazine and the potential reader. 1001fonts.com is a really useful website for creating your magazine title font and any other fonts on the front cover. Make sure that you have a reason for choosing the font...

2) Central Image: This should be carefully planned. Think about who you are going to place as your central image. How will they be represented and how will this reflect on your magazine's image? Think about the composition of the shot. Think about camera shot, angle, and all aspects of mise-en-scene. REMEMBER - you will need shots of this person/people for the main article so think ahead before you organise your photoshoot. Take at least 15 images that you can choose from.

3) Anchorage Text: This should anchor meaning in the image that you have chosen.

4) This is the first issue of your magazine. How will you attract the new audience to your magazine? Do you have a unique selling point?
